Country wise Ranklist

Postby Ron » Sun Oct 25, 2009 7:50 am

There is no "country wise ranklist" in new site.
and there is no option to see country of any user.
why ?
There was a option to see this in old site.
I think this feature should be added in this site also.

We might add it in the future, not now.

Btw, this is a problematic user. What is a country for you? What is the list of countries we should use? It doesn't matter what we use, we always get email complaints saying "A is not a country but part of B" and "Why is not A in the list if it's a country by itself"? We even used the list published by ISO in the past, even so we still got complaints. Once we even received a complaint from an embassy saying to stop the insulting to their country!!! I hate international politics in sites like this, but it exists.

Country is a geographical region, and for the purpose of this site, country is the user input or a tag which user assigns to himself. If you have a situation like B inside A and you get a complaint from A embasy, then the embasy should go and talk to the user who specified this country, is there any reason why you have to worry about embasy?! Whatsoever, if you don't like "country" term use Nationality concept. Anyway that's just a tag that user assigns to himself.

You would be surprised of the political discussion about what a nation is, what someone's nationality is, etc. Even within our country, Spain, people claim about having several nations! Like if that was the biggest problem they had.....

So no countries, no problems. Sorry.
