Hi everyone,
we are starting a new project in the UVa Online Judge. We want to publish a collection of books, each of them containing the solution and comments for the most relevant problems of a particular volume in the UVa Online Judge.
We'd like this book to contain one of the best solutions for each problem. Moreover, we'd like those solutions to be commented by its author. Apart from explaining his code, he can also explain a bit of theory behind his solution, useful tricks, personal opinions, alternative ways of solving the problem, etc. In addition, the user can add a few lines about himself, a short biography and contact details.
Each problem in the book would be commented by a different user, being the book a kind of community knowledge capture. Those books have a double meaning: on one side, users are able to learn from people who have already solved the problem. On the other hand, it's a recognition for all those outstanding problemsolvers in the UVa Online Judge.
The idea is to publish those books and use the money gotten from them to support the UVa Online Judge. We can't promise anything yet to the people that help us. We're thinking on ways to compensate them: if not a free book, we might let them buy it at cost price. this is still to be decided though.
We'll start this book with volume 1, problems from 100 to 199. So, if you're proud for a particular solution on any of the problems in that volume and want to help us, please mail us at uva.onlinejudge@gmail.com or use the "Contact us" form in the web. Don't worry if you've lost your code, we can recover it for you!
We're waiting for your collaboration!! =)
